Springtime Winds
Spring is a beautiful time in Santa Fe. It always amazes me to see things come to life after a long winter. Everywhere you look there is a symphony of colors. Desert? You wouldn’t think so if you saw Santa Fe NM in the spring. The purples, pinks and greens are exploding. We do have some pretty strong winds at this time of year though. I was out showing property yesterday in the 285 area, and the winds were crazy. But, the people I was with were unfazed since they are from Montana. More showings today with a couple from Oklahoma. At least we are tornado free!
Winter Wonderland in Santa Fe, NM
Well, another day, another snowstorm! This has been one of the snowiest winters Santa Fe has seen in years. We got about 8 inches in the foothills (but only expected 2 inches). For the first time in my memory, Hyde Park Rd which leads to the Santa Fe ski basin was closed yesterday. I have friends who tried to go skiing today, and the road was backed up for miles, so probably not a good day to try and drive the 15 miles up. Although it is such a beautiful day, and the ski basin just got another 10″ for a total of over 130″ base.
We’ll be back in the 50′s and 60′s this week. The gardens are starting to show signs of life. This could be our last snow of the season. But never say never
