Winter Wonderland in Santa Fe, NM

March 15, 2010

and what a gorgeous morning...Well, another day, another snowstorm! This has been one of the snowiest winters Santa Fe has seen in years. We got about 8 inches in the foothills (but only expected 2 inches). For the first time in my memory, Hyde Park Rd which leads to the Santa Fe ski basin was closed yesterday. I have friends who tried to go skiing today, and the road was backed up for miles, so probably not a good day to try and drive the 15 miles up. Although it is such a beautiful day, and the ski basin just got another 10″ for a total of over 130″ base.

We’ll be back in the 50′s and 60′s this week. The gardens are starting to show signs of life. This could be our last snow of the season. But never say never :-)
